Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Flip It is a thought-reframing and self-reflection app. We built it with privacy as a default — most of your data never leaves your device. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and who handles it.

What we collect

Flip It collects the minimum data necessary to function:

Pattern recognition Pro

If you are a Pro subscriber, Flip It can analyse your flip history to surface recurring thought patterns. To do this, a summary of your recent thoughts (up to 40, truncated to 120 characters each) and associated mood scores are sent to our API. This data is used only to generate the pattern response and is not stored on our servers.

What we do not collect

Sub-processors

Data storage & retention

All personal data — flip history, mood scores, context tags, journal notes, and settings — is stored locally on your device using CoreData. It is not backed up to any server we control.

Your free flip count is stored in your device's secure Keychain to prevent abuse. This persists across reinstalls but is tied only to your device — we cannot read it.

If you delete the app, all locally stored data is permanently removed from your device.

Your garden & tokens

The garden feature generates visual tokens from your flip history entirely on-device. No data is sent to our servers to build or display your garden.

Children's privacy

Flip It is rated 12+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app, please contact us so we can assist.

Mental health disclaimer

Flip It is a wellness and self-reflection tool — not a medical device, therapy service, or substitute for professional mental health care. If you are in crisis or need immediate support, please contact a qualified professional or a crisis helpline such as the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The latest version will always be available at this URL. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
